Presence Developmental Services provides flexible, person-centered services for individuals with developmental disabilities in a variety of settings throughout the community. Services can be provided in locations that best support the individual’s needs, goals, and daily life.
Services may be provided:
In the individual’s home, including an IRA, Community Residence (CR), Family Care home, or personal residence.
At certified day programs, including Day Habilitation, Prevocational, and Day Training programs, provided the location is not also a certified clinic site.
In appropriate community settings determined by the individual’s clinician based on their needs and goals.
Person-Centered Services in the Community
These clinical services are separate from an individual’s residential or day habilitation program. Our goal is to provide individualized clinical support where it is most meaningful and accessible, helping individuals receive services in familiar environments and within their communities.

Yes. Presence Developmental Services provides individualized clinical services for people with developmental disabilities, but services cannot be provided in certain settings or when they would duplicate other authorized services.
Presence services cannot be provided in the following locations or circumstances:
Educational settings
ICF/IID facilities
Day Treatment Facilities
Clinic treatment facilities certified by OPWDD, DOH, OMH, or OASAS
Hospitals
Licensed or certified residential or day healthcare programs that include clinical services as part of their service model or reimbursement
To individuals who are receiving similar services through an Early Intervention Program
Presence services also cannot duplicate or replace Preschool Supportive Services or School Supportive Health Services authorized through an IEP. Presence may address clinical needs that are not identified in the IEP and are not school-related, as determined by the child’s Committee on Special Education.
Services provided by Presence cannot duplicate or replace services already available through OPWDD-certified day, residential, HCBS, or clinic programs, or services provided by a Certified Home Health Agency. However, Presence services may be provided when they address different or additional clinical needs.
Time spent receiving another Medicaid-covered service cannot be counted as billable service time for Presence.

Yes. Presence Developmental Services accepts Medicaid.
Active Medicaid coverage is required for services, and all insurance plans are accepted. Eligibility and coverage requirements may apply depending on the service being requested.

Yes, there is an important difference between Article 16 Clinic Services and IPSIDD services provided through Presence Developmental Services.
In April 2016, a regulatory change no longer permitted Article 16 Clinics to provide certain services at locations outside the certified clinic site. Independent Practitioner Services for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities (IPSIDD)established another pathway for eligible clinical services to be provided in non-certified clinic locations.
When a clinical service needs to be provided outside of a certified clinic setting, a referral may be made to Presence Developmental Services to determine whether IPSIDD services are appropriate.
